Marianna successfully defended her PhD thesis: on Modeling, analysis and simulation in nonperturbative laser-gas interaction
Marianna will join the Theory and Computation Group, National Research Council of Canada in Ottawa.
Analysis: Evolution partial differential equation, pseudo- and para-differential calculus, non-conservative quasi-linear hyperbolic systems, analysis of domain decomposition methods for quantum wave equations, spectrum of the Dirac equation, spectral pollution.
Numerics: fast spectral methods, finite volume methods, domain decomposition methods and high performance computing, multiscale problems, domain decomposition methods for many-body problems. Mainly for quantum and laser physics.
Laser-physics modeling & simulations: non-perturbative nonlinear optics, laser-filamentation, Maxwell-Schroedinger-Plasma coupling, linear and circular laser-molecule interaction, ionization.
More recently I am interested in quantum computing and simulations, and how numerical analysis can contribute to develop efficient & accurate quantum algorithms.
